• Inhibits 5 alpha-reductase type II, an intracellular enzyme that converts testosterone into the potent 5 alpha – dihydrotestosterone (DHT)
• Improves symptoms associated with BPH
• For treatment of symptomatic benign prostatic hyperplasia ( BPH)
• Reduces the risk of the need for surgery including transurethral resection of the ( TURP) and prostatectomy
